Bobby Jones, Demaret, Hogan, & Nelson Signed Cuts with Surrounding 1940's Sepia Photo of Group
Culminating in a truly exceptional high-end piece are these signatures from four of the earliest to make an impact on The Masters and the game of golf as a whole, Bobby Jones, Jimmy Demaret, Ben Hogan, & Byron Nelson. To just say Bobby Jones had an impact on The Masters would be selling him short. He was The Masters, from building Augusta National Golf Club the way he envisioned doing it to starting the "Invitation Tournament" in 1934. This oversize sepia photo of Jones and Hogan sitting on a log bench with Demaret and Nelson behind was taken at Augusta National Golf Club at the 1946 Masters Tournament. Along with his time-period full-name Robert T. Jones Jr signature, grading a well earned "9" on the scale, are showcase examples of Jimmy Demaret, Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson's penmanship. Many advanced collectors have made mention to over the years that Jimmy Demaret's signature is often found faded, whether its the low amount of pressure he signed his name with, age of signature or piece. You will notice that is not the case with this piece, as it is strong. It is professionally framed and matted to 16 1/2" x 19," with the picture 9" x 10" and each signature matted to 1" x 3 1/2." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
