Bobby Jones Production Art & Engraving Plate - Golfing Legend Seldom Seen
Here we have a seldom seen engraving plate commemorating Bobby Jones' passing in 1971. These plates were used in the production of the first day cachets released by the United States Postal Service. Jones' portrait and post swing figure are detailed. The text reads as follows:
"Official First Day of Issue
Honoring Bobby Jones
American Golfing Legend
1902-1971"
The engraving plate measures 4" x 8", and production art picture measures 9" x 10 1/4". These are sure to shine in any collection, truly commemorating a golf legend.
