In the summer of 1930 following his British Open victory,Bobby Jones sat for a portrait with renowned U.K. artist John Archibald Alexander Berrie. A print of a sketch is offered here signed in pencil by Berrie (John A.A.Berrie) who passed away in 1962. It was out of this setting that Berrie painted his famous oil painting of Jones clad in blue v-neck blue sweater holding his golf clubs under his arm. The original of that artwork hangs to this day in the clubroom at Royal Lytham St. Annes.
