Bobby Jones 1956 Letter to Lincoln Werden on Letterhead - Signed 'Bob'
This lot features a letter sent by Bobby Jones to Lincoln Werden. Jones was a 13 time major champion, including his own personal "Bobby Slam" in which he won the amateur and Open championships in the U.S. and the U.K. in the same calendar year. Bobby was also the founder of Augusta National Golf Club and the co-founder of the Masters Tournament. The original envelope accompanies the letter, which reads as follows:
"Dear Link:
I enjoyed and appreciated your fine column after our very brief visit at St. Andrews. It is always a pleasure to be with you, and I am only sorry that you had to make your visit so hurried. We had a real good day with the boys and I enjoyed it very much indeed.

Sincerely,
Bob"
