Bobby Jones 1932 Emergency Unemployment Relief Sterling Medal

Two years before the first Masters Bobby Jones would lend his efforts to support golf tournaments to raise funds for the Emergency Unemployment Relief Fund. There were still millions of people unemployed in 1932 in the aftermath of the Great Depression. This medal features a striking raised figure of Bobby Jones at the finish of his swing. Surrounding Jones on the outside edges of the medal is “ Emergency Unemploy-ment Relief” The bottom of the medal bears his beautiful “Robert. T. Jones Jr. “ full signature in accurate and excellent detail. The rear of this Dieges & Clust stamped sterling medal is engraved with “ I will share Golf Tournament” The medal retains its’ original patriotic red white and blue ribbon with pin on back nicely intact. This medal is scarce and one of the most highly desired Bobby Jones items. Weighs 20 grams. 1" x 1 1/2" w/Ribbon 3"
