Encapsulated by PSA/DNA and christened with the highly valued 'Type I' classification is this Bobby Jones Grand Slam 1930 US Open Trophy Ceremony shot in which both Champion Jones and the presenter direct their attention to this photograph's lensman. Members of Interlachen dressed to the 9's sit cross-legged in a row of wooden chairs directly behind the presentation table, with standing and sitting Minneapolis based residents following Bobby in the gallery and witnessing history being made first hand congregate behind. Star amateur Bobby Jones would finish as the only golfer par or better at -1, with runner-up MacDonald Smith (+1) awarded the winner's prize of $1,000.
George Trevor, sportswriter for the New York Sun, would phrase Jones' four Major triumphs in 1930 as Jones "stormed the impregnable quadrilateral of golf." This event captivated the minds of most 1930's Americans whether they were golf fans or not, offering the opportunity to see one of the grandest moments in the Golden Age of Sport, Bobby Jones' accomplishment as the only player to win the pre-Masters era Grand Slam.
