Ben Hogan Vintage 'Roll-Out' Golf Green w/Automatic Putting Cup - Great Condition
Presented here is an early branding effort of Bantam Ben Hogan in hopes of improving your putting game, with eye-catching graphics composed of vibrant color on the packaging. Its appearance gave the golfer no choice but to take a look at it in the sporting goods store many decades ago. 'Ben Hogan' is written in blazing red font across the top of the label, with an accompanying sales pitch for the "Revolutionary Practice Green Used by Leading Golfers for Improving Golf Scores..." Included inside the large cylinder package are the putting mat, along with a metal Automatic putting cup for the end target. Ben Hogan was, as still is, one of the top names in the world of golf. A nine-time major championship winner, Hogan is tied for fourth all-time in that regard and is one of only five golfers to complete the career Grand Slam, winning all four modern Majors.
As stated on the container: "The Roll-Out Golf Green is made of Ultra Fabric #264, an amazing material which almost duplicates to perfection the average outdoor green---even to grain. Consisting of Indian goats' hair specially cut and fused, this fabric was developed after years of research and experimentation to comply with professional requirements" It is in good condition, with some slight expected overall wear detailed in the accompanying lot photos. 7 1/2" diameter and stands 23" tall. Fabric measures to 94" x 21 1/4"
