Arnold Palmer's 1984 Open Championship at St Andrews Bag Tag

Many credit Arnold Palmer with further popularizing The Open Championship in the United States, and the game of golf for that matter, when the World Champion Golfer of the Year hoisted the Claret Jug back-to-back - successfully defending his 1961 title in 1962. Here is a personal item from his collection, one of the few items not currently housed in his Latrobe, PA collection known as 'The Barn' - Arnold Palmer's personal 1984 Open Championship bag tag. 'ARNOLD PALMER' was stamped with a label maker and added to the equator of this official tournament tag crest that 'The King' was presented along with his contestant badge to use during his week of competition at The Old Course of St Andrews.

This item comes from the collection of the late Wayne Beck, a 45 year tour caddie who carried the bag for not only Arnold Palmer, but David Graham, Andy Bean, Fuzzy Zoeller, and many more.

1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET

Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
