Arnold Palmer Signed June 18, 1965 Sun Times Wire Photo

At the 1965 U.S. Open, a foreign-born golfer was bound to be the first winner born outside of the U.S. since 1927 as the South African Gary Player beat Australian Kel Nagle in an 18-hole playoff. This was Player's only U.S. Open victory, and an important Major victory, as it completed the career grand slam for one of the game's most accomplished golfers. Offered here is an 8 x 10 Sun Times wire photo of Arnold Palmer and his caddy, Jack Wallace, at the 1965 US Open. Arnie went on to miss the cut at the tournament. Palmer left his signature here in black marker. This will display well and add nicely to any collection.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on Sunday, June 18th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
