Arnie's first victory at Augusta National would change The Masters forever! The King's black sharpie scribe dances across the center of the dandy of a ducat available to his Army in this lot! Arnie stressed the importance of writing so the fan could read it, which is exactly what he did on this prize that has been preserved in good to very good condition containing its original string and boasting strong black print throughout its design.
A great's first in the realm of sport is often hard to predict - as that individual is then relatively unproven and spectators are not expecting said outcome. Arnie's at Augusta National was no different, gaining an army of patrons along the way. Here we have the aesthetically pleasing light green ticket from the first round, Thursday of the 1958 Masters. Arnold Palmer eagled the 13th hole on Sunday to claim the first of his four Masters wins over Doug Ford and Fred Hawkins. This was also the tournament where there would be a slight controversy over scoring on the 12th hole for Palmer - only adding to the story.
Palmer and The Masters Tournament will forever be linked, with this rare signed ticket a prized piece of ephemera for many decades to come - and current gem in a robust ticket market. Condition is impressive including the original sting and jet black print, adorned by the 9+ champion Arnold Palmer signature with conscious, precise placement. Each lot has its own 30 minute countdown clock during extended bidding. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
