This letter dated shortly after the 1968 US Open gives us an indepth look into 1960's Golf and the inpact that Arnold Palmer was having on the game in that day. Even though Arnold was far off the lead in the Championship which would be won by Lee Trevino. He was placed in the final grouping of the day, so his play could be featured for the patrons in attendance and those watching around the world on television. This letter thanks Hall of Fame Los Angeles sportswriter, Jim Murray, for his kind words in print on this situation. On vintage Palmer letterhead, this correspondance to a contemporary and friend is simply penned "Arnie". A classic item with significant historical content to a different era in golf.
