Arnold Palmer 1954 US Amateur Championship Bronze Medal Weight by Medallic Art Co.

No less an authority then Jack Nicklaus calls the United States Golf Association's Amateur Championship a "Major". Whether it is or not is open to debate. What is known is that the 1954 U.S. Amateur had a fellow who was selling paint in Cleveland (Arnold Palmer) put his golf game to test over a week of gritty match play, and crowned him champion by virtue of a 1-up win in the 36 hole finals match. That weeks event was contested at The Country Club of Detroit, and it is what Mr. Palmer considers the turning point of his career. Presented here is a bronze medal weight produced in 1986 by the Medallic Art Co. from Danbury, CT. The bronze medal weight has a 3 1/4" diameter and comes in excellent condition.
