1999 Ryder Cup at Brookline Team Europe Signed Poster
The European squad gave the United States all they could handle on home soil in 1999. It was the beginning of a Ryder Cup era in which the European Team seemingly could not lose. Rookie were plentiful, none brighter than cosigner 'El Nino' Sergio Garcia who left his full-name time-period signature. United in penmanship on this official 1999 Ryder Cup at The Country Club clubhouse poster is the remainder of the team including Colin Montgomerie, consignor caddy Alastair McLean's caddie. Black sharpie with conscious placement reads: Padraig Harrington, Andrew Coltart, Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Paul Lawrie, José María Olazábal, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Jarmo Sandelin, Jean van de Velde, Jesper Parnevik and (captain) Mark James. While one chapter closed, another opened. This one with more pages, as The European team core that formed in 1999 would win 6 out of the next 7 biennial matches. 24" x 18." A signed Letter of Provenance from Caddy Alastair McLean will accompany this lot. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
