1996 Nissan Open Program Signed by Byron Nelson and Phil Mickelson
Byron Nelson was the cover boy for the 1996 cover of the Nissan Open program on the 50th anniversary of his win at the event held at the Riviera Country Club and previously known as the Los Angeles Open. In '46, Nelson hit 17 greens and took 34 putts for a final round 69 and a five shot victory over second place finisher Ben Hogan. Yes Byron must have been something special to beat Ben by five at Riviera the course nicknamed "Hogan's Alley". Nelson has signed just below his photo on the cover in black sharpie. Joining him autographing the cover is another Hall of Famer, and like minded good guy Phil Mickelson.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signatures and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
