1996 Greater Milwaukee Open Series Ticket - Tiger's Professional Debut!
"I Guess Hello World." The well chronicled Tiger Woods story has had many twists and turns, with many of the lows creating even higher highs. Triumph and tribulation. These four words were said with a youthful smile at the eve presser of his professional debut at the 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open by the then 3-time US Amateur champion. In front of a vintage Miller Lite logo tournament backdrop the first of many iconic professional moments occurred - a great start to the week in which 20-year-old Tiger Woods' second highlight would come during the final round Sunday with a 1 on the scorecard for hole #14.
Up for bidding is the aqua and pink '96 GMO series ticket that witnessed all of the first professional event week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Tiger Woods took home his first tournament check of $2,544 for a t-60 finish, a bank account deposit that meant more to him than the $43 million he had already received in endorsement deals. This ticket has reached new heights, the rookie card for a cultural icon in a quickly growing ticket category (especially debuts). Graded examples have set records with realized sales of $87,000 and $99,000 for PSA 8 and 9 examples respectively by Heritage Auctions. Condition of this used ticket is good, with expected soft corners and slight pressure marks on surface detailed in the accompanying lot photos and noted for accuracy purposes only. AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, June 19th. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bidders in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm EDT
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm EDT
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm EDT, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
