1977 20th Annual Memphis Classic Pairing Sheet Signed by Al Geiberger

Al Geiberger was the first-ever player to shoot 59 on the PGA Tour. He accomplished the feat on June 10, 1977 in the Friday second round of the Danny Thomas Memphis Classic at Colonial Country Club. Starting on the 10th hole, the man who would become known as Mr. 59, had 11 birdies and an eagle on the par-72 course. The pairing sheet from that most memorable round is offered here with two page center spread signed in time period ink by several PGA players on hand for the history that day. Geiberger has signed very close to his appointed tee time that day. He has also added a second signature at a later date to the cover of pairing sheet in black sharpie including his now famous "Mr. 59" notation. Both covers of this item remain in near mint condition. Inside shows minor wear and soiling from handling as players signed this historical tournament publication. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides a letter of authenticity for the signatures contained in this lot. A partial list of signers includes Tom Weiskopf, Keith Fergus, Don Bies, Tom Shaw, Bruce Lietzke, Dave Eichelberger, Gibby Gilbert and of course Al Geiberger (2 times).

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on September 27th with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
