1973 PGA Championship at Canterbury GC Contestant Badge - Jack Nicklaus Winner

Bobby Jones is a name that every golf collector is well-aware of. The famous career-amateur amassed an impressive 13 major titles, with those majors of course including his United States and British amateur victories. Jack, owner of two U.S. amateur victories, found himself lifting the trophy for the 12th time at one of the four modern majors. Simple math would tell you that this was the tournament that the Golden Bear surpassed Bobby Jones with 14 career majors, including his U.S. Amateur titles. Jack has publicly stated that he still thinks very highly of his U.S. Amateur victories, so this victory was likely even sweeter for him. The 1973 badge is not lacking in color, as it shines red, yellow, gold and black…that is if you count black as a color. The condition helps this badge present nicely as it is excellent. This relic of competition at golfs highest level comes directly from the PGA where it has resided for over 75 years. This piece will come with a signed letter from Historian Bob Denney of the PGA, proclaiming that this item comes from their collection.

This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, July 21st with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
