This decorative 1965 Ryder Cup banner measures in at 10" long by 9 1/2" wide, but stands far taller in the golf collecting world. Issued in limited quantities for the matches contested October 7-9 at Royal Birkdale this sought after treasure contains two 5" x 1 1/2" adorning ribbons. The left banner lists Great Britain Captain Harry Weetman and his team. While the right side carries a banner of similar size topped by the name of United States Captain Byron Nelson. The Americans behind a dominant day three showing in singles were victorious 19 1/2 - 12 1/2 with Arnold Palmer winning both his matches that day. This seldom seen, by even the most ardent of Ryder Cup collectors, memento remains in extremely visually pleasing condition 50 years after the final putt was dropped.
