1965 Harold Sargent Ryder Cup Matches Binder Of Photos
Paging through this binder from The Sargent Family Collection, with Harold's name above "1965 Ryder Cup" in gold gilt on the front cover, the grouping of photos will give you an eye-witness account of the 1965 biennial international matches at Royal Birkdale from the lens of an insider that captured the entirety of the week from start to finish. The binder is dominated, however, with well preserved candid and posed photographs of Sargent with friends and players including United States' Captain Byron Nelson and Arnold Palmer. These black and white photos tell the story of Harold Sargent's experience, now shared by the family for the first time in over 50 years. As far as the match results themselves, the United States team won the competition by a score of 19½ to 12½ points in enemy territory.
