1964 US Open Championship Program Signed by Ken Venturi
The scoring conditions and over whelming heat during the 1964 US Open are well known. It was only fitting to see Ken Venturi grind his way to his sole major victory. Venturi shot a 70 on the final round although on the verge of heat prostration to win by 4 strokes. Venturi, who would turn from star PGA player to acclaimed broadcaster later in life, has perfectly centered a black sharpie autograph across the front cover of this ex/mt edition of the on course edition of the 1964 U.S.G.A. program. This is an excellent piece of golf history. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature, and their letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
