1962 US Open Championship at Oakmont CC FINAL ROUND Grounds Ticket #124 - Nicklaus Win
It took a Sunday playoff on June 17th, 1962 to declare a winner, 22-year old Jack Nicklaus. Despite being in Arnold Palmer's backyard of Oakmont, Pennsylvania and with a passionate group of supporters, Nicklaus persevered in the 18-hole playoff. He would not only win his first PGA Tour tournament, but major tournament in the same. This was the only the very beginning of a life long friendly rivalry between Nicklaus and Palmer. Used to gain admittance to that fateful round(s) comes this 1962 US Open Championship at Oakmont CC FINAL ROUND Grounds Ticket #124. It is in fair to good condition, with strong black print on the front side of the pertinent tournament information for this once $15.00 ticket. The Oakmont CC squirrel is of course on the left side of the ticket. There is some wear and discoloration from usage that can be seen in detail in the lot's pictures. Collectors of Nicklaus, tickets, Oakmont or just golf history know the challenge that is finding the final day ticket, a day that featured two rounds to crown the champion.

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
