In March of 1959 the secretary of the Augusta National, Charlie R. Yates, penned a letter on August National letterhead (which features Robert Jones Jr as President)to Charles Kocsis confirming his acceptance to compete in the Masters tournament that year. Also of note in the body of the letter is the club's invitation to Kocsis to attend the Wednesday night dinner of amateur participants the night prior to the start of the tournament. This letter comes with a simply "Charlie" signature from Charlie Yates. Seldom seen Masters memorabilia from the era when Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts ran the tournament in detailed orientated fashion. Letter and signature remain in strong condition.
