1958 US Open at Southern Hills Contestant Badge - Tommy Bolt Winner
A contestants badge from the 1958 U.S. Open at Southern Hills is featured in this lot, in excellent condition. The facing side of the 1 1/8" x 1 1/4" metal badge of entrance bears the wording "PLAYER","1958" and"U.S.G.A" in raised fashion with a navy blue enameled circular accent which states"OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP". The reverse of this badge still carries it's original pin clasp in working fashion. Tommy Bolt would go on to win his only major championship at the 1958 Open by four strokes, spoiling the debut of runner-up Gary Player. This item would display perfectly in any U.S. Open collection.
