1957 Walker Cup Program
The 16th edition of the matches between top amateur golfers from the United States versus the best from Great Britain and Ireland was contested August 30-31, 1957 at The Minikahda Club. This historic club was the site of the 1916 U.S. Open won by Chick Evans, and the offered program has a feature article on this early Open Championship. Detailed program contains information on both squads including the U.S. team star Joe Campbell who in 1955 while at Purdue University had won the N.C.A.A. individual championship as an underclassman. This stacked U.S. squad were victorious in the matches 8 1/2 to 3 1/2 points. Program remains in ex-mint condition with spine and all pages strongly intact.
