1955 US Open Championship Items - Magazine, Ball Markers, Scorecard, Signed Card
One of golf's greatest upsets occurred at the 1955 US Open at the Lake Course of the Olympic Club in San Francisco. Jack Fleck, a municipal course pro from Iowa, denied Ben Hogan his tenth major championship and record fifth U.S. Open by defeating him in an 18-hole playoff for his only career major. Presented here is an official scorecard, a cut signed by the champ Fleck, one Olympic Club ball marker, one official 1955 US Open ball marker, a black and white photograph of Fleck putting in front of hundreds in the gallery, and a copy of "Golf Digest" with Fleck on the cover. All these items come in excellent condition and are ready to display.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
