1955 PGA Championship at Meadowbrook CC Contestant Badge - Doug Ford Winner
Offered here is a contestant badge/money clip from the 1955 PGA Championship at Meadowbrook Country Club. Doug Ford captured the medalist honors in qualifying for the 1955 PGA, and then went on to capture the Championship for only the fourth time this was accomplished while the event was decided by match play. Ford competing in his first PGA Championship became the first player since Tom Creavy in 1931 to win on his initial attempt when he won 4 & 3 in match play over Cary Middlecoff in the final match.
