1954 National Golf Day 'I didn't beat Ben Hogan but I tried' Certificate w/Magazine Story - Seldom Seen
In 1952 the PGA founded National Golf Day, a day to celebrate and enjoy the game of golf. To this day, National Golf day is an opportunity for golf industry leaders to meet with members of Congress, the Executive Branch and federal agencies to discuss the game's nearly $70 billion economy, $4 billion annual charitable impact, and many environmental and fitness benefits. In 1954, the nation set out to beat Bantam Ben Hogan. Though delayed a week by illness, Hogan would shoot an incredible 64 at Baltusrol, sending many participants nationwide home with this certificate, unable to match Hogan's score. The certificate measures 10 1/2" x 14" and is accompanied by a magazine article.
