1954 Masters Tournament Contestant Badge #29 - Sam Parks, Jr.
Sam Snead defeated Ben Hogan by one stroke in an 18 hole playoff to win his third Green Jacket in the historic 1954 Masters. With only a scant 78 contestants appearing in the 1954 Masters. This red and white 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" plastic badge is highly elusive to Masters collectors. With badge #1 going to the past years champion each badge is then issued according to when the player shows up for the Masters and registers for the tournament. In 1954, Sam Parks Jr. received #29 as would also be listed on the Masters pairing sheet from that year. With original pin still in place, this contestants pin is simple in design but packs a big punch in the way of Masters collectibles. An added plus is the fact that this high quality example remains in near mint condition and comes from a known player, even better a major winner (1935 U.S. Open).
Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on Sunday, November 20th with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
