1953 US Open Contestant Pin

With this example of the 1953 (1 1/8" x 1 1/4")U.S. Open contestants badge you won't have to look too far for an upgrade for your collection, a fine example is presented here. With vibrant enamel complete and original clasp strongly intact this is a great '53 contestants badge to hit the market place. Preserved nicely. The 1953 season marked Hogan's most dominate year of his career. His victory in the 1953 Open was also dominant with Hogan firing an opening round 67 to establish a lead he held from start to finish as the only player to better par for the 72 holes (-5) posting a six shot win over second place finisher Sam Snead. The win at Oakmont in 1953 marked Hogan's fourth and final U.S. Open triumph.
