This contestants badge from the 34th PGA Championship measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" with its vivid red color still blazing over the surface of this 1952 PGA contestants pin as it reaches its 65th anniversary in 2017. This examples presents in near-mint condition free from surface damage, and with its original pin clasp intact. Under steamy, hot summer conditions the 36-hole qualifying round was contested on Wednesday and Thursday before the weekend crowd saw Jim Turnesa claim the 1952 PGA championship in match play.
