1950's Ping Redwood City Prototype Putter

This lot contains one of the Rarest Ping Putters ever made. The putter is a 1950's Redwood City 'V' which is a prototype of the Redwood City B5. This putter is prior to when Karsten stamped Redwood City in the soles of the Redwood City putters. The putter was authenticated by Bobby Grace in person as he was able to examine and authenticate it as well. The putter also has the original brown leather wrap on it that is in great shape for the age of the putter. Bobby Grace was able to spend many hours with Karsten Solheim, the creator of Ping when he was writing his book regarding collectible Ping Putters. Bobby Grace said and documented that this putter is in the top 5 of all putters he has ever seen. The current Ping Historian said that they don't even have a putter from this time period with these markings which shows how rare of a putter it actually is. The putter comes with a letter of authenticity from Bobby Grace, Bobby Grace's original Ping Collectable guide autographed and inscribed. This is a putter that you may only see once in a lifetime and is extremely rare. If you are a Ping Collector it will be the pride of your collection.
