1948 Tucson Open Low Amateur Sterling Plate


Old Pueblo was the site of the 1948 Tucson Open and the site of another Stranahan triumph in the amateur division of the tournament. With scores of 68-66-66-68 the big hitter from Toledo overpowered the desert course at 10 under he finished tied for 3rd overall four strokes behind the victor
His award as simon pure of the event is etched: Tucson Open - 1948 - Low Amateur - Won By - Frank Stranahan - Score 268
