1947 US Amateur Championship Program Signed by Winner Skee Riegel


Offered here is a program from the 1947 US Amatuer in fair condition, please refer to photographs. Robert "Skee" Riegel won the tournament at Pebble Beach, beating Johnny Dawson, 2 & 1. Riegel played on the Walker Cup teams of 1947 and 1949 and finished in second place at the 1951 Masters to Ben Hogan. The champ signed inside the program in black ink and with the following inscription:

"John Dawson and I played the first eight holes of the final match in complete fog - Skee Riegel".
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
