1947 Masters Tournament Sunday Ticket #1584
This lot presents a Championship Sunday ticket from the 1947 Masters. Jimmy Demaret won his second of three Masters by two strokes over Byron Nelson and Frank Stranahan. Adding to the prestige, he was the first golfer to score four sub-par rounds in the same Masters tournament. This ticket number 1584 from the 11th Masters tournament presents in good condition, although missing the original string and top loop. The collecting of the ever challenging Masters tickets from the 1930's and 40's is red hot now, with a premium placed on Sunday and Series badge. Finding Masters tickets which are close to crease free, like this '47 Sunday, is not an easy task, take it from someone who looks 300 days a year to find one and many years comes up empty.
