1946 PGA Championship Sunday Ticket - Ben Hogan Victory

Ben Hogan returning from military service claimed his first career Major and first of two PGA Championships as he defeated Porkey Oliver, 6 and 4 in the 1946 PGA final match. In the morning round Hogan had troubles with his putting and found himself 3-down, but with a 30 on the front nine of the afternoon round he took control of the match, going into the final nine 2-up. Hogan won four of the final five holes, making birdie on three of them, concluding the match on the 32nd hole with a birdie 3. For the day, Hogan was 7-under par, playing the afternoon 14 holes in 8-under par. Measuring 6" x 3 1/8", this red-hued with gold accent voucher admitted its bearer to the 1946 PGA Championship site of Portland Golf Club in Portland, Oregon. The ticket shows EX/MT quality, with vibrant colors and sharp edges/corners. The item has a thin area of surface loss and remnants of paper from the ever common scrapbook placement-an insignificant flaw in assessing its historical display potential.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on August 2nd with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
