1945 PGA Championship Program Signed by Byron Nelson
Back when the PGA Championship was still a match play event, Byron Nelson captured his 2nd PGA Championship victory in a 5 year span (1940), defeating Sam Byrd 4 & 3. Presented here is a 1945 PGA Program from that Championship which was held at Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio, it is in excellent condition with strong binding retaining it's 8 1/2" x 11" pages. The official publication of the PGA of America does display surface wear and creases over its front cover. An added bonus to this program is the perfectly centered autograph on the cover from Byron Nelson. Nelson in 1945 was the Associated Press's Male Athlete of the Year , winning 18 of 35 PGA tournaments including 11 in a row. The '45 PGA Championship win was his 8th in the run of 11 straight. Program from the historic run is a must for any golf collection, with it's value only enhanced with Lord Byron's cover autograph.
