1945 PGA Championship Official Scorecard Signed by Byron Nelson
This 6" x 4 1/4" scorecard from the 1945 PGA Championship contested at Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio has been front signed by the events champion Byron Nelson in black sharpie. Nelson started his run through the match play event with a 4-3 triumph over Gene Sarazen. This card has been marked in pencil with both those players names for scoring purposes. That 4 and 3 score was the same margin of victory which Nelson would have over Sam Byrd in the Championship final match. This victory marked the eighth straight triumph of his record 11 straight wins which Nelson would record during the 1945 season. His 1945 PGA Championship victory was the fifth and final Major win in Nelson's illustrious career. Programs from this win turn up from time to time, but how many times have you seen a scorecard?
