1945 Big Fore Tournament Program Signed by Byron Nelson
This World War II era golf program measures in at 8 1/2" x 10", but packs a big punch over its vg/ex condition publication. The tournament it was comprised for featured Byron Nelson in his magical season of 1945. A year that saw Byron win 18 times with 11 straight triumphs. This event held outside Detroit, Michigan at Plum Hollow Golf Club was for the benefit of injured soldiers. With neat pencil scoring inside you can follow Nelson's victory. The back cover offers advertising for the upcoming Tam O'Shanter Open which would be Nelson's 10th straight win in the march to the record eleven. An added bonus to 70 year old treasure is a black sharpie signature which Byron Nelson has added to the cover of this program. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides certification of authenticity which will accompany this lot.
