1941 Henry Hurst Invitation Golf Tournament Program Torresdale-Frankford
In the third week of September 1941, the PGA Tour was in Philadelphia for the first annual $5,000 Henry Hurst Invitation at Torresdale-Frankford Country Club. The tournament came about because the host course needed to put a fence around their course and Henry Hurst, a member, told the club that if they would let him bring a PGA Tour event there he would make enough profit to put up a fence, and he did. The event was held in conjunction with the PGA Silver Anniversary banquet held over the same weekend in Philadelphia and drawing all the top players of the day to the banquet and tournament. Ben Hogan and Bud Ward were the two honored guests at the dinner. In a turn of events it was the only prize Hogan would get that weekend, after being in the money in fifty-six straight PGA Tour events, Bantom Ben failed to cash in missing by five shots at 291. Sam Snead won this event (26th of 82 record PGA career wins) with an eight-under-par 272. Excellent condition program from this event is offered here.

Each lot will have its own 30 minute countdown clock during extended bidding. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
