1940 'Five Masters Champs in Green Jackets' in Front of Clubhouse Type 1 Photo PSA/DNA #85008262
Of great historical significance is this 1940 dated shot of Horton Smith, Byron Nelson, Gene Sarazen, Henry Picard and defending champion Ralph Guldahl walking in their 'ANGC' patch green jackets just in front of the Augusta National clubhouse a full nine years prior to Sam Snead receiving the first 'Masters Champion' green jacket. It signified that with the tournament triumph, Snead was now a member of the club along with all of the other past champions who received theirs retroactively. Here is a encapsulated 1940 Type 1 Masters Photograph of Smith, Nelson, Sarazen, Picard, and Guldahl. Interestingly, these gentleman won the 1st - 6 Green Jackets in the Masters Tournament from 1934-1939.
