An amazing back nine finish in the final round brought the 38-year-old Gene Sarazen even with Lawson Little. There was however no more magic in The Squire's bag and Little claimed the 1940 U.S. Open Championship 70-73 in the playoff. Offered here is a Contestants Wife's badge (#103). Certainly one of the finest examples in the hobby. The catchy graphics of player and rabbit in the hole still remain vibrant today over 70 years after pressing. Reverse of badge shows wear but still retains its original pin-back clutch. Easily in excellent condition this extremely attractive pin, of this type (Contestants Wife) that is seldom seen or offered is as magical as pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Pin has a 2 1/2" diameter.
