1940 PGA Championship at Hershey Country Club Program - Byron Nelson Winner

With a detailed depiction of the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pennsylvania, this program was produced for the patrons attending the PGA Championship 80 years ago. The tournament culminated in a legendary battle between heavyweights and legends of the game Lord Byron Nelson and Slammin' Sammy Snead. The dominant wartime golfer Byron Nelson advanced to five of the six finals between 1939 and 1945 and won both 1940 and 1945. Due to inclement weather the final match was played on that Monday, Labor Day. This program is in fair to good condition, with overall cover wear and slight creasing. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
