1940 Masters Tournament Friday Second Round Pairing Sheet - April 5, 1940
Offered here is a difficult pairing sheet from only the 7th Masters Tournament's Second Round held, referred to back then as the Augusta National Masters Tournament. The sheet has been folded length and width-wise, and exhibits some staining, please see photographs. Jimmy Demaret claimed the first of his three Masters titles in 1940, four strokes ahead of Lloyd Mangrum. Mangrum's first round 64 stood as a tournament record for 46 years. Demaret would go on to win the Masters again in 1947 and 1950, the first three-time Masters champion.
