1937 Augusta National Invit.(Masters) Series Ticket #458
This ticket #458 from the 1937 Augusta National Invitation Tournament (Masters) offered in this lot marks the earliest prized SERIES TICKET (Good for all 4 rounds of the tournament, April 1-4) which The Golf Auction has auctioned. Byron Nelson won his first of two Masters (1942) by two strokes over Ralph Guldahl. The series ticket shows some evidence of wear in its color and condition. There are slight creases on both sides, and the original string is missing from the ticket, where it is ripped. This lot along with lots 6, 7, and 8 have been in an early Augusta National members families holdings since they were issued in the formitive years of the Masters tournament. Finding a 1937 Masters Series ticket is something a collector could wait a lifetime for. They are truly that difficult. See photos for more detail.
Ticket measures 3 1/2" diameter
