1935 'Masters' Augusta National Invitational Program

Note the ‘Masters’ in quotes above, that is to remind everyone that the Masters Tournament back in 1935 was not called the ‘Masters’, it was in fact referred to as the Augusta National Invitational Tournament. This program was referred to as a Year book, but for all intensive purposes we will refer to it as a program. For any serious collector it is a must have, this being one of the very few 1935 Programs remaining after nearly 80 years. There has been some minor restoration to the program’s cover. The brick red color on the cover is accented by the vibrant Augusta Green, as well as the tan and soft burnt orange. With the binding being tight, showing wear on the corners, but with the inner pages in great condition with no signs of staining or water damage, we are proud to auction off such an exquisite piece of golf history. As every collector knows, pictures displaying the pages being raised are only an example of the binding being intact, please observe the pictures provided. We are pleased to offer such a great example as our first 1935 ‘Masters’ Augusta National Invitational Year Book.

What also makes the 1935 Program such an exciting piece of golf history is the fact that Augusta National only issued a 1934 and 1935 program prior to continuing the tradition in the 1990’s. There in fact are fewer 1935 programs than 1934 programs in the market today, due to Augusta National producing fewer 1935 than 1934 programs. Prior to any souvenirs being offered, tickets, pairing sheets, and programs were all that there was, and that is all that remains.
