1934 & 1935 US Open Programs - Merion & Oakmont - Bound by W. Albert Heizmann Jr.
Offered in this lot are programs from the 1934 and 1935 U.S. Open, beautifully binded by W. Albert Heizmann Jr. The programs come in perfect condition and the bound cover shows no sign of aging. Olin Dutra won the 1934 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club over Gene Sarazen by one stroke. The 1935 U.S. Open would be won by 25-year old club pro at nearby South Hills Country Club Sam Parks Jr., who had no prior tournament wins. This lot offers an outstanding collectible for any U.S. Open collector, especially given it's superb condition. Oakmont CC hosts its ninth U.S. Open this year, and we're expecting an exciting tournament
