1934 US Open Program - Some Pages Missing
The 1934 U.S. Open was the first contested by the United States Golf Association at Merion. Sine that first offering Merion has become a very historical site for U.S. Opens. Offered here is a program from that '34 Open. Let's review the condition because it is a mixed bag. Front cover is nice on this ALL ORIGINAL example, as some one is reviewing your collection flipping through programs 1933, 1934, 1935. They may even comment "boy that '34 is nice" based on cover alone. The bad now pages 19-24 are missing from this program, and there is damage to the back cover. Eighty year old U.S. Open programs just do not turn up that often. Will be very conservative with this one and start it at roughly 10% of what a standard condition one would sell for. Oh did we mention that 1934 was the first year that both Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson played in a U.S. Open.
Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on September 28th with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended.
