Newly-discovered example of the 1934 Augusta National Invitational (Masters) Final Round Sunday Ticket #1930 from original-owner noncollecting family. This family were friends and neighbors of the Bobby Jones' family in the Tuxedo Road area of Atlanta. This offering marks the first time this example has entered the Masters collecting world. The 1934 first year ticket is the most spectacular of all Masters badges and tickets, and one of the most highly prized of all Masters collectibles. Any example of a 1934 ticket is extremely rare, with fewer then a dozen examples known.

This is the second 1934 ticket which The Golf Auction has offered at auction. Our April 2012 auction saw a price of $31,987.25 realized for the relic from the first Masters. We have set the minimum bid at a modest percentage of its previous sale, and the selling price will be determined by the market (as is always the case at The Golf Auction). The retention of color and minimal amount of surface creasing in the newly discovered example yields to an assessment that this is one of the most noteworthy examples of Masters ticket collecting's greatest treasure. Conservatively, we grade this example overall in Excellent condition. The diamond shaped ticket still to this day retains its original blue colored attaching string. For accurracy we note a couple condition issues which have developed from patron use at the final round of play on Sunday March 25 at the 1934 Masters. First there is the normal worn area around the circular cutout which houses the string on ticket. Secondly there is a surface crease which appears at the "s" in Augusta and runs to the edge of the ticket. These are two that we have noticed. We encourage bidders to examine the several up close photos of both front and reverse sides of ticket to base your own opinions on condition. Very few items transcend the world of Masters collecting and whose great significance can so easily be appreciated by collectors and noncollectors alike. The initial Masters 1934 ticket is one of the few, and its great significance and rarity defines it as one of the collecting world's greatest treasures. Dimensions: 2.75 X 2.75 inch square
