Extraordinary newly-discovered example of the 1934 Augusta National Invitational (Masters) Final Round Sunday Ticket. This is an incredible find. The 1934 first year ticket is the most spectacular of all Masters badges and tickets, and one of the most highly prized of all Masters collectibles. The discovery of an example in such high-grade is simply amazing. Any example of a 1934 ticket is extremely rare, with six examples known.

This is the first 1934 ticket which has ever come to auction. The Golf Auction through private sales has handled two of the six tickets, and has had the pleasure of seeing three of the other four we have not personally handled. The retention of color and minimal amount of surface creasing in the newly dicovered example yields to an assessment that condition wise it is by far the best we have seen. We cannot imagine a finer example. It is hard to believe that the surface of this ticket could survive in what is essentially perfect condition, but this happens to be the case with this example. For accuracy the minute flaws due to normal course use will be brought forward. 1.)a 1/2 inch surface crease on front next to verbage "FINAL ROUND MEDAL PLAY" 2.) slight discoloration on front of the map of the United States roughly where Mississippi would be located 3.) indent to circular area, depression to paper on side of circular area where attaching string was housed 4.) front left corner is soft 5.)back of ticket has a 5/8 inch surface crease in lower left region. 6.) back of ticket has slight stain to paper at the lowest point. The 1934 ticket even though there is an extremely limited sample size are known to have just by normal use extensive creasing, color distortion, and paper loss from mounting in the common scrapbooks of the day. None of these flaws are seen on this example.Considering its intended use by patrons viewing a golf tournament the survival of this ticket in such an improbable ultra high grade is simply extraordinary. This example is much closer to that impossible ideal standard of mint condition than we thought we would ever see. Conervatively, we grade this example overall in Excellent to Mint condition, and believe this to be the finest example in existence of one of the true "Holy Grails" of Masters memorabilia. This is a world-class museum-calber display piece that would be a very significant highlight in any collection. The lowest known 1934 ticket carries a #1185 with dimensions: 2.75 X 2.75 inch square
