1934 US Amateur Program at The Country Club - Lawson Little Victory
Over the 1934 and 1935 amateur campaigns Lawson Little was as dominant as any simon pure golfer in the history of the game; and yes that includes Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in the conversation. Little would capture both the U.S. and British Amateur titles in 1934, and to put an explanation point on his superior play he repeated the feat in 1935 capturing both amateur titles again. Over this stretch he would win 32 consecutive matches in the two events. This dominace which was not previously accomplished, and is most likely to never be seen again earned Little the title for his feat of the "Little Slam". Offered here is the program from Little's 1934 U.S. Amateur win over David Goldman (8 & 7)at The Country Club Brookline, Ma. In condition this program is admirable. The white surface of the covers has a couple material blemishes (no tears or errant writing), ultimately yielding this completely intact program an Excellent condition evaluation.
Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on November 16th with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended.
